Oxbow a classic star out of a full-sister to Tiznow

OXBOW (USA) - 2010 bay horse

Classic winner Oxbow stands at Calumet Farm in Kentucky and having covered 110 mares in his first season and 134 in his second, he will have plenty of representatives. His stakes-winning full-brother Awesome Patriot also has his first yearlings on offer this year, as does his close relation Paynter (by Awesome Again).

His unraced dam is a full-sister to US Horse of the Year, champion three-year-old, dual Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Classic hero and leading sire Tiznow (by Cee's Tizzy), which makes him an exciting prospect. That star is also a full-brother to prolific Grade 2 scorer Budroyale, and to Grade 2 Sorrento Stakes heroine Tizdubai (by Cee's Tizzy).

Tiznow is also a full-brother to the Grade 2-placed stakes winner Tizbud (by Cee's Tizzy) and to the unplaced Tizso, dam of the afore mentioned classic-placed Grade 1 star and WinStar Farm stallion Paynter.

Oxbow won only one of his five starts as a juvenile, a seven-furlong maiden special weight at Chuchill Downs, he may not be one to take high rank, by races won, among the freshman class of 2017. That said, there is no reason why some members of his large crops won't do well at two, even if most show their best at three and four.

Awesome Again's (by Deputy Minister) other stallion sons include Horse of the Year and notably successful sire Ghostzapper.
