One of the most popular members of the US-based stallions who have their first yearlings on offer now, WinStar Farm's classic-placed Grade 1 star Paynter covered 127 mares in his first season and 158 in his second. He did not run at two, he won from five and a half furlongs to nine furlongs, stayed 12, and his early sales horses have been catching the eye.

He is out of an unplaced mare called Tizso (by Cee's Tizzy), but as she is a full-sister to several talented horses, headlined by Horse of the Year, champion three-year-old, dual Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Classic hero and leading sire Tiznow, his potential and appeal are obvious.

Paynter's dam is also a full-sister to Tisamazing, the unraced dam of classic star Oxbow and graded-placed stakes winner Awesome Patriot, both of whom also have their first yearlings on offer now.

They are all by Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Classic winner Awesome Again (by Deputy Minister), whose other stallion sons include Horse of the Year and notably successful sire Ghostzapper.
