Cross Traffic, winner of a strong edition of the nine-furlong Grade 1 Whitney Invitational Handicap, clocked Beyer figures of 116 and 110 during his brief career, one that spanned just six starts and all of them at the age of four.

His two blacktype seconds were defeats by just a nose and a head, in the Grade 1 Metropolitan Handicap and Grade 3 Westchester Stakes respectively – both over a mile – and it is no surprise that he has been such a popular member of the team at Spendthrift Farm in Kentucky, where he covered 123 mares in his first season and 106 in his second.

The son of leading sire Unbridled's Song (by Unbridled) is out of the prolific Stop Traffic (by Cure The Blues), a mare whose dozen wins featured the Grade 1 Ballerina Handicap and Grade 1 Santa Monica Handicap.

His siblings include the stakes winners Exodus (by Medaglia d'Oro) and Thirteen Arrows (by Indian Charlie), and his grandam is Save My Soul (by I'ma Hell Raiser) whose six successful offspring also included the Grade 3-placed dual stakes winning filly and blacktype producer Bionic Soul (by Bionic Light).

There are other stakes winners to be found in branches of the second and fourth generations of his family, but nothing approaching the talent of Cross Traffic or of his dam.

Although he did not race until the age of four, there is no reason why he should not be capable of getting some talented juveniles along with the notable three-year-olds and older horses that look likely to feature among his early crops.

Very small crops for this Mill Ridge Farm stallion – he covered 23 and 19 in his first two seasons – but with his pedigree he has a chance of springing a surprise or two.
 
He is by a leading sire, he is out of the Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks, Grade 1 Spinster Stakes and Grade 1 Las Virgenes Stakes heroine Keeper Hill (by Deputy Minister), and the many blacktype winners in the family include Grade/Group 1 winners Clabber Girl (by Alydar), Torrential (by Gulch) and Commendable (by Gone West). But what may be most significant to his sire potential is that he is inbred 4x4 to Killaloe (by Dr Fager).
 
That mare was the dam of Grade 1 star and infuential classic sire Fappiano (by Mr Prospector), who is the great-grandsire of Keep Up, and she is also the dam of Jedina (by What a Pleasure), the stakes-winning grandam dam of Keeper Hill.

Unraced at two and a dual mile winner from three starts at three, Graydar won all three of his races at four and he had standouts such as Take Charge Indy and Flat Out behind him when winning the Grade 1 Donn Handicap over nine furlongs at Gulfstream Park.
 
He stands at Taylor Made Stallions Inc in Kentucky, covered 130 mares in his first season and 125 in his second, is inbred 4x4 to Mr Prospector (by Raise a Native), and some of his early sales yearlings have been fetching six-figured sums in the auction ring.

A half-brother to two graded-placed multiple winners, he is the best representative of one-time scorer Sweetest Smile (by Dehere), a daughter of juvenile stakes winner Cielo Ontono (by Conquistador Cielo). That mare is, in turn, a half-sister to a multiple listed scorer, but what catches the eye is the presence of a champion sire in the family.
 
Bubbles Darlene (by Fappiano) won twice as a three-year-old and this half-sister to Cielo Otono is the dam of the speedy English filly Elrafa Ah (by Storm Cat). She won the Listed Dragon Stakes at two, added the Listed Bentinck Stakes and was runner-up in the Group 3 Criterion Stakes, but her son Mujahid (by Danzig) won the Group 1 Dewhurst Stakes and finished third to Island Sands and Enrique in the Group 1 2000 Guineas.
 
He was European champion two-year-old in 1998, he began his stallion career at Beech House Stud in England but moved to Allevamento di Besnate in 2008. The multiple Italian champion sire is responsible for four-times Australian Group 1 star Danleigh, Dubai and Turkish Group 2 winner Balius, Italian Group 1 scorer Cleo Fan, and dual pattern scorer and notable broodmare Tashekla, among others.
 
The first two named on that list were millionaires and the latter is the dam of Group 1-placed Group 2 scorer Tasaday (by Nayef) and of last month's Group 3 Desmond Stakes winner Tribal Beat (by Street Cry).

Unraced at two and winner of a six-furlong Belmont Park maiden on his only start at three, Emcee won the Grade 1 Forego Stakes over seven furlongs at Saratoga at four. He stands at Sequel Stallions in New York, he covered 66 mares in his first season, but just 28 in his second. He may not have many runners in Europe, if any, but he should be capable of getting some stakes winners at home.

He is a son of leading sire Unbridled's Song (by Unbridled) and he is out of the six-times scorer Surf Club (by Ocean Crest), which makes him a half-brother to the Dubai Group 2 winner Surfer (by Distorted Humor), to listed scorer Spring Party (by Smart Strike), and to Baffled (by Distorted Humor).
 
The latter was third in the Group 3 Albany Stakes at Ascot as a juvenile and she is the dam of the Grade 1 Florida Derby and Grade 1 Donn Handicap star Constitution (by Pulpit), who has completed his first season at WinStar Farm in Kentucky. His half-sister Jacaranda (by Congrats) won the Grade 3 Tempted Stakes over a mile at Aqueduct in 2014.
 
Baffled is also the dam of Boynton (by More Than Ready), one the leading European juveniles of 2016.
