Central Banker, a son of sprint champion and notably successful stallion Speightstown (by Gone West), is a McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds stallion, he covered 115 mares in his first season and 99 in his second.
He was a stakes-placed dual winner as a two-year-old, a five and a half-furlong listed scorer on turf and placed in both the Grade 1 Malibu Stakes and Grade 1 King's Bishop Stakes at three, and he took the Grade 2 Churchill Downs Stakes over seven furlongs as a four-year-old.
He is out of the multiple stakes winner Rhum (by Go For Gin), which makes him a half-brother to the Grade 2 Smile Sprint Handicap scorer Gantry (by Pulpit), and the best of his dam's siblings is Private Emblem (by Our Emblem), winner of the Grade 2 Arkansas Derby in 2002 but, sadly, fatally injured two years later.
You have to go back to the fifth generation to find the next blacktype winners in the family although they include the Grade 1 Metropolitan Handicap winner and leading New York sire Dixie Brass (by Dixieland Band). Stallion sons of Speightstown include Group 1 scorer Lord Shanakill (sire of Group 1 Prince of Wales's Stakes winner My Dream Boat) and, more notably, Ashford Stud's Grade 2 winner Munnings, whose string of stakes-winning offspring include the Grade 1 scorers I'm A Chatterbox and El Deal. Central Banker should be capable of getting winners in all age groups and, given his racing record and pedigree, he looks likely to get his best results from sprinters and milers. With the right mares, however, it is possible that he could get some who will stay 10 furlongs. CENTRAL BANKER (USA) - b.2010 - Speightstown - Rhum, 4 wins inc Churchill Downs Stakes (Gr2), Quick Call Stakes (L), 2nd Malibu Stakes (Gr1), Thanksgiving Handicap (L), Kentucky Downs Juvenile Stakes (L), 3rd King's Bishop Stakes (Gr1). Sire in USA. First foals in 2016.

This lightly-raced Grade 2-winning sprinter stood at Pauls Mill in Kentucky but died, due to colic, several months after completing his first season. He covered 49 mares. His dam, Renfro Valley Star (by Dayjur), is a winning daughter of Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Stakes heroine and US two-year-old filly champion Brave Raj (by Rajab).
Brave Raj's best runners were the mile stakes winner Bravo Bull (by Holy Bull) and listed handicap scorer Russian Tango (by Nijinsky), and the latter is the dam of Grade 1-placed Grade 2 Breeders' Futurity scorer Eurosilver (by Unbridled's Song), who has sired a string of stakes winners and six-figured earners. FAST BULLET (USA) – ch.2008 – Speightstown – Renfro Valley Star, 4 wins inc True North Handicap (Gr2). Sire in USA. Died 2014. Only foals in 2015.
