Pastorius a classic-winning son of Soldier Hollow

PASTORIUS (GER) - 2009 bay horse

A leading two-year-old who became a classic star at three and a Group 1 winner in France at four, Gestut Fahrhof stallion Pastorius is a son of leading sire Soldier Hollow (by In The Wings) and so represents the broad Sadler's Wells (by Northern Dancer) line.

He is a full-brother to last year's German juvenile champion Parthenius, and his dam, Princess Li (by Monsun), is a winning grand-daughter of Group 2 ARAG Preis (German 1000 Guineas) heroine Princess Nana (by Bellypha).

That classic scorer is the grandam of the Group 1-placed sprint stakes winner Sunny King (by Desert Sun) and she is a half-sister to Assia (by Royal Academy), the stakes-placed dam of classic-placed Group 2 scorer and German champion Arcadio (by Monsun).

The various other stakes winners in the first four generations of the family include Alys (by Blakeney), the Group 2-placed stakes-winning fourth dam of Pastorius.

He should be capable of getting some two-year-old winners, but it is likely that his best results will come when his progeny start racing beyond a mile and he could do very well in his native land.
