The first winner and stakes winner for the regally-related stallion Evasive, this chestnut spent a season at Haras de Grandcamp, in France, before being exported to Tunisia. He was a listed winner over seven furlongs, his pattern success came at a mile – both as a two-year-old – and there are only seven foals in his first crop.
His dam, Zalia (by Oasis Dream), is a half-sister to the pattern-placed miler Hashbrown (by Big Shuffle), and his grandam, Haraplata (by Platini), is a half-sister to two blacktype earners. One of those is the ill-fated staying hurdler Acapulco (by Galileo) and the other is that one’s full-sister Jane Austen who won two of her three starts for Aidan O’Brien, including a listed contest over 12 furlongs on very soft ground at Fairyhouse.
Although he was precocious and had the pace to win twice over five and a half furlongs in May of his two-year-old season, his handful of offspring may yield a juvenile winner or two, but it is likely that most, if not all of them, need more time. Indeed, it would be no surprise to see two or three of them become middle-distance horses. EVASIVE’S FIRST (FR) - ch.2012 - Evasive - Zalia, 5 wins inc Prix des Chenes (Gr3), Prix des Jouvenceaux et des Jouvencelles (L). Sire in France & Tunisia. First foals in 2017.
