A well-bred and multiple stakes-placed horse who won the Irish Cesarewitch on his final start, El Salvador stands at Killack Stud in Co Wexford and he has the potential to become a successful National Hunt sire.
A handful of his first foals were offered in 2016 and they made up to €8,500. He is by the dual Derby hero and great stallion Galileo (by Sadler's Wells), he is a full-brother to the listed winner and Group 2 Jockey Club Stakes third Galactic Star, and he is out of the Group 1 Coronation Stakes heroine Balisada (by Kris).
His grandam, Balnaha (by Lomond), is a winning full-sister to the Group 2 Child Stakes (now Falmouth Stakes) winner and Group 1 Coronation Stakes runner-up Inchmurrin and that filly, of course, became the dam of the Group 1-placed triple pattern scorer Inchinor (by Ahonoora). He died young but left us with the Group 1 winners Cape Of Good Hope, Latice, Notnowcato and Summoner, among others of note.
El Salvador (IRE) – ch.2009 – Galileo – Balisada, 7 wins inc 2nd Lenebane Stakes (L), Martin Molony Stakes (L), 3rd Vintage Crop Stakes (L), Saval Beg Stakes (L). Sire in Ireland. First foals in 2016.
