A well-bred and multiple stakes-placed horse who won the Irish Cesarewitch on his final start, El Salvador covered 85 mares in his first season at Killack Stud in Co Wexford and he has the potential to become a successful National Hunt sire.
He is by the dual Derby hero and great stallion Galileo (by Sadler's Wells), he is a full-brother to the listed winner and Group 2 Jockey Club Stakes third Galactic Star, and he is out of the Group 1 Coronation Stakes heroine Balisada (by Kris).
His grandam, Balnaha (by Lomond), is a winning full-sister to the Group 2 Child Stakes (now Falmouth Stakes) winner and Group 1 Coronation Stakes runner-up Inchmurrin and that filly, of course, became the dam of the Group 1-placed triple pattern scorer Inchinor (by Ahonoora). He died young but left us with the Group 1 winners Cape Of Good Hope, Latice, Notnowcato and Summoner, among others of note.
