Night Wish is a dual Group 1-placed pattern-winning son of the notable dual-purpose sire Sholokhov (by Sadler's Wells) and he stands as a National Hunt stallion at Haras de Montaigu in Normandy, France, and has 31 registered foals in his first crop.​

He is a full-brother to the Group 1 Preis der Diana (German Oaks) and Group 1 Grosser Preis von Baden heroine Night Magic and a half-brother to this year's dual middle-distance Group 2 scorer Night Music (by Sea The Stars), who got her two Italian pattern wins by a combined margin of five and a half lengths.

Their stakes-winning dam, Night Woman (by Monsun), is out of listed scorer Noveka (by Kalaglow) and is a grand-daughter of Novelle (by Northfields), the Group 2 Preis der Diana winner of 1983.
