This hurdle and chase scorer was three-times graded placed over the smaller obstacles as a four-year-old and he begins his new career at Yorton Farm Stud.
He is a son of the champion National Hunt sire King's Theatre (by Sadler's Wells) and the best of his siblings is Caid du Berlais (by Westerner), the Paul Nicholls-trained gelding who won the Grade 3 Paddy Power Gold Cup Chase over the extended two and a half miles at Cheltenham two years ago. He is out of Kenza du Berlais (by Kahyasi), who is a half-sister to the National Hunt blacktype scorers Enzo du Berlais (by Mansonnien), Karoo du Berlais (by Irish River) and Isis du Berlais (by Cadoudal). The latter is a blacktype producer and a full-sister to Chica du Berlais, a placed mare whose four blacktype-winning offspring include the Grade 1-winning juvenile hurdler and prolific French blacktype scorer Bonito du Berlais (by Trempolino) and Grade 2 winning mare Nikita du Berlais (by Poliglote). In addition to his long list of flat and National Hunt listed, pattern and graded winning progeny, King's Theatre is also responsible for Great Pretender, a blacktype-winning hurdler and French-based stallion whose offspring feature the high-class pair Mr Mole and Ptit Zig.
