Top Australian sprinters have proved both popular and successful as stallions in Europe and Exosphere is among the latest to make the trip north. The Group 1-winning son of leading sire Lonhro (by Octagonal) is a Darley horse and he will begin this phase of his career at Haras du Logis in France.
His unraced dam Altitude (by Danzero) is out of the stakes-placed Highest (by Marscay) and that mare is, in turn, a half-sister to the Group 1-placed multiple stakes winner Tell Me Straight (by Is It True). Their Group 1-placed half-sister Serious Matter (by Carry A Smile) is the dam of two stakes winners and grandam of a Group 3 scorer.
Consular Belle (by Pro Consul), the stakes-winning third dam of Exosphere, won 11 times from 49 starts and that Canadian-bred grand-daughter of multiple champion sire Vice Regent (by Northern Dancer) was out of a winning full-sister to the talented Canadian sprinter-miler Stacy Mckay (by Dance To Market). His pedigree makes him something of an unknown as a stallion prospect, but with his racing record and connections he is likely to prove popular and it will be fascinating to see how he fares in this part of the world. EXOSPHERE (AUS) – b.2012 – Lonhro – Altitude, 5 wins inc Golden Rose Stakes (Gr1), Roman Consul Stakes (Gr2), Run to the Rose (Gr2), Skyline Stakes (Gr2). Sire in Australia & France. First northern hemisphere foals in 2018. Comments are closed.
